Information We Collect

Images You Provide

When you use ThatToThis to scan schedules, receipts, or other documents:

• Processing: Your images are sent to Google's Gemini AI service for text extraction and analysis
• No Storage: Images are processed in real-time and are not stored on our servers or retained by Google after processing
• Local Data: Extracted information (calendar events, bill items) is stored locally on your device

Calendar Data

• We request calendar access only when you choose to add extracted events
• We only write new events that you explicitly approve
• We do not read, modify, or delete your existing calendar events

Purchase Information

• Your scan credit balance is stored in Apple's iCloud to sync across your devices
• All payment transactions are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store
• We do not receive or store your payment details, credit card information, or Apple ID

Analytics Data

We use Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to improve the app. This includes:

• App usage patterns (which features are used, error rates)
• Device type and iOS version
• Crash reports and performance metrics
• This data is anonymized and not linked to your personal identity

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Extract calendar events and bill items from your images
• Add events to your calendar (with your permission)
• Improve app performance and fix bugs
• Understand how users interact with the app

Third-Party Services

ThatToThis uses the following third-party services:

Data Retention

• Images: Deleted immediately after AI processing
• Extracted Data: Stored locally on your device until you delete it
• Scan History: Stored locally; you can delete individual scans anytime by swiping left
• Credits: Persist in iCloud indefinitely (intentional, to survive app reinstalls)
• Analytics: Retained per Firebase's standard data retention policy

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical measures to protect your information:

• All network communications use HTTPS encryption
• Images are transmitted securely to Google's AI service
• Local data is stored in your device's protected app container

Your Rights and Choices

Delete Your Data

• Scan History: Swipe left on any scan to delete it and its associated images
• App Data: Uninstalling the app removes all local data
• Credits: Credit balance persists in iCloud; contact us if you need it removed

Control Permissions

You can manage app permissions in iOS Settings:

• Camera: Used only when you choose to take a photo
• Photos: Used only when you select images from your library
• Calendar: Used only when adding events; can be denied without affecting other features

Opt Out of Analytics

Contact us to request removal from analytics data collection.

Children's Privacy

ThatToThis is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us immediately.
